Things I wish I knew before I tried it

This gem is situated perfectly between the train station and the lively Place de la Comédie-such a privilege! The chic family rooms boast modern amenities, while staff exude warmth and friendliness. A good afternoon tea awaits between 4-6 PM, complete with cake. Just be cautious of the limited breakfast options and occasional noise.

Clean and well-maintained facilities.

The air conditioning system broke down during a heatwave, leaving us uncomfortable. The front desk staff informed us that no maintenance was available at night, quite disappointing. When we requested a room change, they said the hotel was fully booked, leaving us no options but to endure the heat.

The hotel was very close to the rail station, staff were friendly and helpfull. Rooms were clean and tidy and the main square and many restaurants were close by. I would stay here again.

We were looking for a centrally located hotel in Montpellier and the Royal met our needs, its a 3 minute walk from the train station and 2 minute walk to the Comedie. The room was clean, quiet and air conditioned. We did not used any of the facilities as we arrived late and left very early.

I really enjoyed the central location of the Royal Hotel, just a short stroll to both the train station and Place de la Comedie. The room was spacious, clean, and had an interesting mix of modern amenities and historical charm. I appreciated the afternoon tea service with delicious cakes, a lovely way to unwind after a day of exploring. The staff were friendly, especially at reception, where I received helpful local recommendations. The lack of reliable Wi-Fi was frustrating, especially when I needed to work. The air conditioning in my room wasn't very effective during a hot stretch, uncomfortable at times. The hotel atmosphere was cute and had a cozy feel, despite a few hiccups with the facilities.

Good support in English language

The location was excellent, just a block from shopping, cafes and park. Rooms were large by french standards and fairly attractive. Bathrooms were modern and large. Rooms were very quiet with windows closed and air conditioning on. Staff was very courteous and helpful. they all spoke excellent English. We didn't have breakfast there, so can't comment on that.

Family friendly with good location

The staff were cute. The kids loved the treasure box surprise before we left!

It wasn't overly inexpensive, but definitely worth it for the experience.

Location excellent just down from the big square Place de La Comedie easy to park there etc then explore the old town

Sound proofing could be better but not the worst by any stretch

An excellent location halfway from the railway station and Place de la Comedie. The room was quiet, the bathroom spacious, tidy and modern. Breakfast ok.

The comfy room. I loved the bike rental option to explore the city. Plus, being so close to the train was convenient. Enjoyed the lovely courtyard view, really peaceful.

The location of the hotel was excellent for the old town and the room was very comfortable.

Tea/coffee facilities in the room would be useful.

It is a very easy walk from the station. Transport is easy -both train and trams. The room was a good size and staff mostly spoke english. Staff are there 24 hours.The tourist bureau was very helpful.

There is no frig and no internet although there is an internet cafe next door.
